Could be an Amanita virosa (Destroying Angel) – deadly poisonous, uncommon, grows in deciduous woods, but prefers mountainous areas but the season is right for it
The specimen has gills so it can’t be a Polypore and it’s not Destroying Angel as this has a smooth, white cap. Need to see the colour of the gills.
