A by no means exhaustive list of sites we’ve found useful and/or entertaining:
1: Identifying species
General sites:
Wildflowers:
The British Wild Flowers site also covers trees, shrubs, brambles, grasses, sedges, rushes and ferns.
Butterflies:
Fungi:
2: Reading about other people’s woods
3: Researching woodland issues and policy
- The Small Woods Association, simply the site for small wood owners and yes, of course, we are members so we would say that.
- The Woodland Trust has a brilliant site and yes, of course, we are members so, again, we would say that.
- We found our local office of the Forestry Commission very helpful.
- The Wildlife Trusts and, specifically, The Sussex Wildlife Trust. Yep, we’re members.
